Holidays on a yacht - experience more

Why a holiday on a yacht?

If you've never sailed on a yacht before, the word "yacht" probably conjures up images of millionaires sipping champagne somewhere in the Caribbean. But be warned, the reality isn't always straight out of a James Bond movie - although let's face it, that would be nice. In reality, a yacht holiday is now available to just about anyone who doesn't want to just lie like a seal on a crowded beach.
After all, it's not just about being in and taking pictures in the style of Hollywood starlets (although I admit that Instagram will be rejoicing). Sailing on a yacht offers far more than just a luxurious decoration for your profile.

Discover hidden corners of the world

How many times have you looked over the fence from your hotel and thought, "That's where I want to go!" But the fence is usually high and the guard there is usually not very friendly. There are no fences on a yacht. You have the opportunity to explore bays and lagoons that the average landlubber has no idea about. And that's where the real advantages of a yacht holiday lie - freedom and independence.
I remember, for example, my first cruise around the Greek islands. I had seen a lot, but when we docked in a deserted bay with turquoise water and a pebbly beach without a soul in sight, I felt I was discovering a new continent. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating... but just a little!

The yacht experience: a different perspective

The other cool thing is the completely different angle on the world around you. From the mainland, you have a view of the limited surroundings of a hotel complex or a crowded town square. But try to literally rise above things - or rather, sail further away from the shore - and you'll suddenly see the landscape in a whole new way.
From the sea, you get a perspective like never before: the lighthouse high above the cliffs looks more imposing than the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the small fishing villages look like Lego models. These yacht experiences are indescribable in words (but of course I always try anyway).

Time goes slower (and tastes better)

Another thing I've come to know personally: the time spent on board really goes at a different pace than in the office or even on a hotel beach with an all-inclusive bar at your back.
Suddenly, you feel like the day lasts at least a week - and you don't even have to go through a boring meeting or visit with your mother-in-law (sorry to all the mothers-in-law!) for it. The daily routine disappears over the horizon along with your old idea of the ideal holiday.
And those dinners right under the stars? Oh, yeah! Fish straight off the grill tastes a million times better than a buffet dinner at the hotel. And if you don't happen to catch any fish... well, it's gonna be pasta and ketchup! After all, even Captain Jack Sparrow must have improvised sometimes (and how famous he is!).

So why hesitate?

If you've read this far (congratulations!), you probably have an answer to the question of how to spend your well-deserved vacation this year. A yacht holiday will offer you not only relaxation and luxurious pictures for social networks (we all know that), but also an adventure full of freedom and unforgettable moments.
So what do you think? Will you give the sea and the wind in your hair a chance this year? Or would you rather stay under the familiar umbrella number 43 next to the noisy family next door?
I'm going to pack my swimsuit!

Yachting in Corsica: Discover the most beautiful coves and wild nature

When the captain of our crew announced over a beer last winter, “This year we’re going yachting in Corsica, guys,” I pictured the usual sunbathing, the occasional grilled fish, and calm seas. How wrong I was! Corsica, that rugged “Island of Beauty,” doesn’t give you anything for free. But what it offers you in exchange for a little sailor’s sweat will stay with you forever.

From the Deck to the Wall: How to Combine a Passion for Sailing and Climbing

Adventure tourism is attracting more and more people who don’t want to just lie idly on the beach during their vacation. They’re looking for excitement, physical activity, and unforgettable experiences. That’s exactly why yachting in Croatia and rock climbing are the perfect combination for all active travelers.
Many sailors head to the Adriatic for its perfect blend of turquoise waters, excellent cuisine, and pleasant climate. But when, after a full day of sailing and anchoring the boat, stiff joints start craving action, Croatia’s rugged coastline—with over a thousand islands—offers the perfect playground. Rock faces rising directly from the waves present a challenge that will take your sailing to a whole new level.
