Praslin 7 days route
Day 1: Anse Lazio – Anse Volbert – Baie Ste Anne (10.00 NM)
Our adventure begins in Baie Ste Anne on Praslin. We'll stock up on supplies at local shops, maybe grab a quick lunch at a Creole restaurant, and then head out to sea. Our first destination? The legendary island of La Digue, just a few nautical miles away.
La Passe: First stop and local culture
La Digue is like traveling back in time. There are almost no cars here; the main means of transport are bicycles and ox carts. We will anchor in the port of La Passe, soak up the relaxed atmosphere, and rent bicycles. It's the best way to explore the island.
Southwestern beaches: Grand Anse and Anse Cocos (beware of currents)
Depending on the weather, we can also anchor in the southwest near Grand Anse or Anse Cocos beaches. The scenery here is breathtaking, but be careful! During the trade winds, there can be large waves and strong currents that are not suitable for swimming because the beaches are not protected by a coral reef. It's an ideal place for a picnic and sunbathing, but be careful in the water.
Day 2: La Passe – Anse Source d’Argent – La Passe (8.00 NM)
Today we will visit the icon of the Seychelles. The beach you have seen on a million desktop wallpapers and in every other travel catalog.
Anse Source d'Argent: The most photographed beach in the world Yes, it's the one. Anse Source d'Argent. The combination of giant granite boulders, white sand, and shallow, calm waters protected by a reef is simply magical. A little tip: come here as early in the morning as possible, before the crowds of tourists from Praslin arrive. You will have it almost to yourself and experience its magic to the fullest.
L’Union Estate: History and vanilla plantations On the way to the beach, you will pass through L’Union Estate, a former plantation where vanilla and coconuts were grown. It is a great opportunity to learn about the island's colonial history and see how people used to live here.
Day 3: La Passe - Félicité - Grand Soeur - La Passe (14.00 NM)
We leave La Digue and head for its satellite islands, which are a paradise for lovers of underwater life.
Félicité: A paradise for divers
Our first stop is Félicité. The waters around it, especially towards the neighboring island of Marianne, are considered one of the best diving sites in the world. Get your gear ready, because an incredible spectacle awaits you below the surface.
Grande Soeur: One of the most beautiful beaches
The islands of Petite and Grande Soeur (Sister Islands) are surrounded by a beautifully preserved coral reef. Here you can see sea turtles, schools of tropical fish and, with a little luck, white tip reef sharks. The beach at Grande Soeur is often described as one of the most beautiful and cleanest in the entire archipelago.
Day 4: La Passe - St Pierre - Curieuse (8.00 NM)
Today we will meet prehistoric giants and snorkel at an iconic island.
St Pierre: A popular snorkeling spot
The small granite island of St Pierre is like something out of a postcard. It is part of the Curieuse Marine National Park and is one of the best places for snorkeling. The water here is crystal clear and full of life.
Curieuse: Coco de Mer and encounters with turtles
We will sail to Curieuse Island, home to hundreds of giant tortoises that roam freely here. It is an incredible experience to stand face to face with these majestic creatures. In addition to turtles, the famous Coco de Mer palm tree also grows here naturally, whose fruit is the largest seed in the plant kingdom. Take a walk along the nature trail through the mangrove forest and enjoy the unspoiled nature.
Day 5: Curieuse – Aride – Curieuse (15.00 NM)
Today we set sail north, to a place where time has stood still.
The northernmost granite island: Seychelles before humans
Aride is a nature reserve and a perfect example of what Seychelles looked like before humans arrived. It is one of the most important bird islands in the Indian Ocean, with over a million seabirds nesting here.
Rich flora and fauna: Endemic species and birds
The island is home to the largest population of lizards in the world and is home to the endemic Wright's gardenia, which cannot be found anywhere else in its natural habitat. The sounds of thousands of birds are deafening and fascinating at the same time. It is a place where one realize
Day 6: Curieuse – Cousin Island – Anse Lazio (12.00 NM)
We return to Praslin, but on the way we visit one more bird sanctuary and two breathtaking beaches.
Cousin Island: Rare Bird Reserve
Like Aride, Cousin is a special nature reserve. Here you can observe rare bird species and giant tortoises. Don't forget to check the opening hours in advance.
Anse Georgette and Anse Lazio: The Pearls of Praslin Island
These two beaches are often referred to as the most beautiful on Praslin, and perhaps in the whole world. Anse Georgette is smaller and more intimate, while Anse Lazio is more spacious and world-famous. Both offer perfect white sand, turquoise water, and iconic granite rocks. An ideal place to spend the afternoon and night at anchor.
Day 7: Anse Lazio – Anse Volbert – Baie Ste Anne (10.00 NM)
On the last day, we will enjoy a little bit of life and then return to our starting point, but not before visiting one magical place.
Anse Volbert: Activities and relaxation
Anse Volbert (also known as Côte d'Or) is the longest and most popular beach on Praslin. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and water sports options. The water is shallow and calm, ideal for a last swim.
Vallée de Mai: UNESCO World Heritage Site and Coco de Mer
Before we finally leave Praslin, we must visit the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, which is on the UNESCO list. This ancient palm forest is home to the Coco de Mer palm tree and is often described as a remnant of the original Garden of Eden. Walking under the giant leaves of these palm trees is a mystical experience and the perfect end to our adventure.
